West Wittering Cricket Club now have a Play Cricket website that has all our stats, fixtures and much more on. Click Here to visit WWPC

The WWCC was established in 1919 and have since then enjoyed promoting the spirit of cricket in the village for 92 years. WWCC is based in the seaside village of West Wittering on the edge of Chichester harbour in West Sussex, seven miles south of Chichester.

WWCC is a registered Community Amateur Sports Club CASC and thus is a non-profit making organisation with all surplus income raised being re-invested in sports development. The WWCC Constitution can be seen under the Committee section of this web site.

Until 2004 the club only played friendly Sunday cricket and occasional 20 over evening matches. However, since the WWCC moved to the Millennium Meadow in Elms Lane in 2003 and through a major fundraising activity built its own pavilion, the club has gone from strength to strength.

In 2004 WWCC entered the West Sussex Cricket League. This was the first time that WWCC has played league cricket. In 2005 WWCC fielded 2 teams; a Saturday League XI, Sunday friendly XI, as well as entering the npower Village Cup for the first time. In 2006 WWCC entered 2 colts teams into local leagues for the first time and in 2008 WWCC enjoyed the company of the clubs first official overseas player from Tasmania, Australia.

In 2008, WWCC’s league side achieved it’s best season on record winning all 13 of their games and becoming champions of West Sussex Division 2. After this season, the amalgamation of the West Sussex Cricket League and the Sussex Invitation Cricket League took effect, meaning WWCC would be put into West Sussex Invitational Cricket League Division 4 (1st XI). After losing some important players, a tough season saw WWCC finish 10th in the league and yet another league split put WWCC in Division 7, the lowest the league side had seen. In 2010 WWCC grew and grew and finished 4th in the league, just a solitary point short of promotion. The 2011 season promises to be a successful one, with new players joining regularly and old boys coming back, WWCC is thriving, both on a Saturday, Sunday and the Colts section.
